Welcome to the Tignish Initiatives Corporation’s website. We developed this website to share the story of Tignish Initiatives and the 25 plus years of community economic development we have initiated in our small community of less than 1000 people in rural PEI.

We have been fortunate to have and had dedicated community minded board members and management who have all contributed to the success of the organization and projects we have taken on over the years.  And we would be amiss not to mention the importance of all levels of government in supporting our projects and investing in our community over the years.

In celebration of our 20th Anniversary it was most fitting that the community was awarded the First Place distinction from Communities in Bloom in the 2013 competitive beautification category of Canadian Communities up to 1000 people and has competing in the circle of champions since winning numerous awards for the hard work and dedication that goes into it and now maintaining a presence on the international stage! It was in 2004 when Tignish Initiatives carried out the first community beautification project with assistance from ACOA and have continued to invest and provide leadership in these efforts and are very proud of all the recognition that has come our way.
